Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa Launches Autumn-Winter Wellness Passport Plan With Seawater Lagoon Sauna Experience

A new autumn-winter-only stay plan, the Wellness Passport Plan (ウェルネスパスポートプラン), is now on sale at Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa (ハイアット リージェンシー 瀬良垣アイランド 沖縄) in Onna Village, Okinawa. The plan is for guests staying in The Beach House (ザ・ビーチハウス), the wing located right in front of Seragaki Beach.

In recent years, the purpose of travel has begun to expand beyond sightseeing to include getting oneself into good condition. On Seragaki Island, which is surrounded by the sea on all sides, the hotel treats the whole island as a "wellness island," offering stays centered on playing in nature in summer and leaving oneself to nature in autumn and winter. This plan combines a stay in The Beach House, where guests can live as if they were residents by the sea, with the Lagoon Sauna Experience (ラグーンサウナ体験), which features cooling down in a seawater lagoon, as well as morning yoga and original bath salts.

Living by the Sea at The Beach House

The Beach House is a low-rise wing with 23 rooms in total, located right in front of Seragaki Beach. Although it is a hotel, it can be used like a second home. It is on the Okinawa main island side and is connected to Seragaki Island by a single bridge.

Guests can wake up looking at the sea in the morning, spend the day feeling the island's nature, and settle the body at the lagoon sauna. The wing serves as a base for stepping away from busy hours and regaining one's own rhythm. Rooms also have a kitchenette, a large refrigerator, and a microwave, which suits longer stays and family use.

Lagoon Sauna Experience in a Seawater Lagoon

The tent sauna, a popular autumn-winter program since it began in 2022, has been renewed this year as the Lagoon Sauna Experience. In an AMBER dome-shaped tent sauna, guests are wrapped in the soft heat of a wood-burning stove. Each day offers either getto (月桃, shell ginger) löyly, which uses a plant of Okinawa, or the scent of the hotel's original blend oil "SOU" (想-SOU-). SOU is an essential oil developed mainly from shikuwasa grown in Okinawa, which has grown wild for a long time mainly in northern Okinawa. Its fresh citrus scent refreshes the mind and leads to a bright, positive mood.

After the sauna, guests move to a lagoon where seawater circulates. Unlike an artificially chilled cold plunge, cooling down surrounded by the natural seawater temperature and the sound of waves is an experience unique to Seragaki Island, which has a lagoon that is rare even in Japan. A floating outdoor air bath on an SUP board and the sunset sinking into the horizon add quiet moments of relaxation that are special to Okinawa in autumn and winter.

Wellness Habits for Morning and Night

Morning yoga facing the sea

During the stay, guests can join Seragaki Morning Yoga (瀬良垣モーニングヨガ) at 50% off the regular price. Settling the breath in the morning while looking at an infinity view where the sea and sky connect is a comfortable way to start the day.

Original bath salts

In the guest rooms, original bath salts made with Okinawa-produced sea salt are provided. Guests can relax at their own pace, wrapped in the scent of getto (shell ginger) and hibiscus.

Family Time on the Island

The Beach House, with its living room and kitchen, is a spacious accommodation that suits family trips and three-generation trips. The 1-bedroom room (55 m²) accommodates up to 6 guests (up to 4 adults), and the 2-bedroom room (79 m²) accommodates up to 8 guests (up to 5 adults). Groups of four or more, including children who sleep with adults, can stay comfortably.

In the 2-bedroom room, which has two bedrooms, three generations of grandparents, parents, and children can relax in the same space while keeping their own private time. Families can spend time together across generations in the island's nature while enjoying the wellness experiences.

Children resting in bed

The rooms also have a special minibar that conveys the charm of Okinawa. The lineup is all Okinawan: black coffee from PAIKAJI COFFEE, which expresses the Okinawan breeze, the excitement of travel, and the afterglow of a resort stay; the Onna Village awamori "萬座"; the lactic acid drink "美らBio"; and four Okinawa Bireley's (沖縄バヤリース) juices, namely Ishigaki Island pineapple, tropical guava, tropical mango, and Yanbaru shikuwasa. In Okinawa, mixing awamori into iced coffee is also a familiar way to drink it. Guests can enjoy the drinks according to each family member's taste.

The hotel's restaurants provide high chairs and children's tableware and cutlery. Children's menus are also available at All Day Dining Serale (オールデイダイニング セラーレ), Cucina Serale (クッチーナ セラーレ, Italian), Shirakachi Robata (シラカチ炉端), and Shirakachi Japanese Cuisine (シラカチ日本料理), so families can dine with peace of mind.

Waking up with the sea, spending time with nature, and restoring mind and body are moments that are fading from daily life today. The hotel hopes that a few days on Seragaki Island in autumn and winter will become an opportunity to look again at time with oneself and loved ones. Okinawa has the saying "nuchi du takara" (命どぅ宝), meaning "life is the greatest treasure." The idea of valuing the time that is here now also connects to wellness. The hotel proposes Seragaki Island in autumn and winter as a destination for restoring mind and body through wellness experiences made possible by an island surrounded by the sea.
