Infiorata Kobe 2026 Reveals Flower Petal Art Designs for Its 28th Edition

"Infiorata Kobe" is a spring event that transforms the streets of Kobe with intricate mosaic artworks crafted from tulip petals. First held in 1997 following the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the event was created with the wish to bring beauty back to the recovering city. Now drawing approximately 400,000 visitors each year, it has become one of Kobe's most iconic seasonal traditions. This year marks the 28th edition, and the flower petal designs for each venue have been finalized.

What Is Infiorata?

The word "infiorata" comes from Italian, meaning "to lay flowers." It is a tradition in which elaborate decorative patterns are created on streets and plazas using flower petals. Originating in Genzano di Roma, Italy, the practice is celebrated in cities across Europe.
