The park, home to approximately 500 cherry trees in full bloom, is regarded as one of the finest cherry blossom destinations in Saitama Prefecture. The festival began as a way to introduce this scenic spot to visitors from both within and outside the city, and this year marks its 49th edition.

On the day of the event, a range of activities will be on offer, including koto (Japanese harp) performances (4 sessions), an outdoor tea ceremony (paid admission, limited availability), a flea market, a Green Fund distribution of flower seeds (limited quantities), food and beverage stalls, food truck vendors, and free guided tours of the castle ruins park by the Iwatsuki Tourism Volunteer Guide Association.
