Shikoku Aquarium, located in Kagawa Prefecture, and JR Hotel Clement Tokushima, in Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture, are joining forces for their first-ever collaboration. Starting Saturday, September 5, 2026, the hotel's Dining Cafe Clement will begin serving "Sea of Sweets Afternoon Tea," a spread of sweets and savories modeled after the creatures that call the aquarium home.
The concept previously ran at JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu from June 1 to August 31 as part of the hotel's 25th-anniversary celebrations, where it proved a hit with guests. Building on that response, the collaboration is now coming to Tokushima so that more visitors across the prefecture can enjoy Shikoku Aquarium's undersea world. This marks the first time JR Hotel Clement Tokushima has partnered with the aquarium.
The tea stand brings together eight photogenic sweets and four savory dishes styled after the aquarium's residents, including a yellow peach shortcake decorated with Ei-kun, a popular character at the aquarium, along with treats inspired by pantropical spotted dolphins, spotted seals, spotted garden eels, and coral.
After enjoying the underwater world over tea, visitors are invited to head to Shikoku Aquarium itself for a look at the creatures in person.
