A real-life puzzle game called "The Mysterious Museum and Fragments of Memory" will be held at the Kadokawa Musashino Museum in Tokorozawa Sakura Town (Tokorozawa, Saitama) starting Thursday, November 5, 2026. It is the second installment of Tokorozawa Sakura Town's original roaming puzzle event, following the first edition held in August 2025 to a warm reception. This time, the entire interior of the Kadokawa Musashino Museum, whose architectural design was supervised by the world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, becomes the stage for the puzzles.
"The Mysterious Museum and Fragments of Memory" is a hands-on real-life puzzle game set in the Kadokawa Musashino Museum, the landmark of Tokorozawa Sakura Town, in which participants become the protagonist and solve the puzzles themselves. Players move the story forward by searching for clues hidden in the museum's exhibits and bookshelves, and spend time wandering through their own memories in a special space surrounded by giant bookshelves. Using a paper "puzzle kit (booklet)" together with a dedicated web page, players visit various spots around the museum to solve the mysteries.
To bring out new charms of the Kadokawa Musashino Museum, the puzzles make use of existing exhibits, and the visuals, theme, and story have been created to match the museum's interior for an immersive experience. A hint function is available, and the difficulty is aimed at beginner to intermediate players. Beyond the puzzles themselves, the museum is also worth enjoying, including the Bookshelf Theater, which is surrounded by about 22,000 books.
Story
You wake up inside a museum that looks like a giant mass of rock, having lost all your memories.
You don't know who you are or why you are here.
All you have is a small picture book, clutched tightly in your hand.
In the quiet bookshelves, you meet a mysterious owl guardian named "Peeju" (ページュ).
Together with Peeju, you solve the mysteries hidden in the exhibits and shelves and collect the lost fragments of your memory.
Can you complete the picture book "Kioku no Kiroku" (きおくのきろく) and open the door back to your world?

Limited-Time "KadoCafe" Collaboration
To coincide with the puzzle event, KadoCafe on the 2nd floor of the Kadokawa Musashino Museum will offer collaboration menu items. Ordering a designated menu item comes with an original puzzle coaster. After enjoying the museum puzzle game, visitors can relax with a collaboration latte printed with a character from the story.
