The Railway Museum in Saitama City is hosting its 14th Night Adult Teppaku event, responding to requests from visitors who want to enjoy the museum in a quieter atmosphere. Following its continued popularity, the event returns for a 14th time.

Enjoy a "Night Teppaku" unlike the usual daytime visit.

Director Ishida provides commentary while touring the commuter trains on display at The Railway Museum.

◆ Location: Main Building 1F, Vehicle Station, starting from the Nade 6110 electric train

◆ Capacity: 20 groups each (up to 2 people per group)

◆ How to participate: Winning the Teppaku lottery app drawing is required.

🚂 Headmarks on Some Exhibit Vehicles Will Be Changed or Newly Displayed

Exclusively for Night Adult Teppaku, headmarks will be changed or newly displayed. What they'll be changed to is a surprise for the day!

🚅 The 0 Series Exhibit Hall Lighting Will Go Dark for One Hour

For one hour only during Night Adult Teppaku, the exhibit hall lighting will be dimmed, letting the "glowing nose" of the lead car emerge from the darkness.

◆ Time: 6:40 PM to 7:40 PM

※ For safety during the lights-out period, the stairs and entrances leading to the 0 Series Shinkansen's interior and underside will be closed, and exhibit panels will be difficult to read. Visitors who want to view the interior, underside, or exhibit panels should do so outside the lights-out time.

※ Please be considerate of other visitors while viewing and photographing.

Two films are screened back to back, introducing museums about transportation that once stood in Tokyo and Osaka.

"Transportation Museum" (1970s)

"The Joy of Transportation Science" (1965)

Look for the exhibit vehicles and materials on display at the museum within the footage.

Enjoy commentary on "Various Colors: Railway Advertising — That Day, That Place, That Ad," which has been running since July 11, 2026. From nostalgic advertisements to recent examples, enjoy the appeal of railway advertising.

This dining car-themed restaurant offers an upscale atmosphere. Enjoy a luxurious menu in the calm ambiance of the evening.

◆ Other: The menu is the same as during regular hours.

      Please check with restaurant staff on the day.

❖ Notes for Night Adult Teppaku Participation

◇ A separate admission ticket is required to participate in Night Adult Teppaku.

◇ Night Adult Teppaku tickets are general admission price only.

 Infants (age 3 and up) and elementary, junior high, and high school students must also purchase tickets at the general admission price.

◇ Visitors holding a physical disability certificate, mental disability and welfare certificate, rehabilitation certificate (Ai no Techo, Green Techo), atomic bomb survivor health certificate, war-injured person's certificate, or various recipient certificates for disability welfare services, along with one accompanying caregiver, may purchase Night Adult Teppaku admission for ¥800. Please purchase directly at the entrance counter after 5:30 PM on the day.

◇ The Teppaku Annual Passport, Teppaku Weekday Afternoon Pass, JR East shareholder service coupons, and other vouchers or admission exchange tickets cannot be used.

◇ Visitors who entered during regular hours on the day will be asked to exit once and line up again for Night Adult Teppaku entry.

◇ Some facilities and hands-on exhibits available during regular hours will not be available.

◇ The parking lot cannot be used. Please visit using public transportation.
