"Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji" Pop-Up Store Returns to Nakano Broadway from April 16

CRAZY BUMP, the company that organizes and operates exhibitions themed around subculture genres including manga, anime, and tokusatsu, has announced a second wave of merchandise for the "Hakaba Shōtenroku Kaiji POP UP STORE" (Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji Pop-Up Store). The event runs from Thursday, April 16 to Monday, May 25, 2026, at Hakaba no Garō (Nakano store) and the Hakaba no Garō Online Store.

Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji, the iconic series by Nobuyuki Fukumoto, first launched its serialization in Weekly Young Magazine in 1996 — marking 30 years of heart-pounding gambling battles and soul-stirring quotes from characters who have fallen into the swamp of desire.

Following the 2022 Hakaba Shōtenroku Kaiji exhibition at the Nakano store, and the expanded Gyakkyo Kaikōroku Dai Kaiji Ten held across Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya in 2024–25, the pop-up returns to Nakano Broadway — known as the "underground hell" — for a third time. This immersive showcase centers on iconic scenes paired with the characters' most memorable lines, plunging visitors into the relentless highs and lows of the Kaiji universe.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series, a large lineup of original merchandise is being released, including apparel staples such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, and caps, along with acrylic stands, acrylic keychains, can badges, stickers, stationery, and everyday goods.

Venue Entry: Timed Admission Tickets Required (April 16–19 Only)

Due to expected high foot traffic, timed-entry admission tickets will be required for the first four days (Thursday, April 16 through Sunday, April 19). Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis via "LivePocket-Ticket-."

Application period: Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 12:00 PM

Second Wave Merchandise Lineup

Numa Jersey / ¥11,000 (tax included)

Sizes: M–XL

An original jersey inspired by the infamous "Man-Eating Pachinko: Numa," the high-stakes underground pachinko attraction at the Teiai Group's secret casino. The chest features a card design from the series, while the back displays the "Pachinko Numa" machine in a ferocious, man-eating glare.

2026 Original Illustration Kaiji Acrylic Stand / ¥1,375 (tax included)

Size: W100mm × H143mm (frame dimensions)

A newly drawn illustration by series creator Nobuyuki Fukumoto, rendered as an acrylic stand to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji series. The piece captures "Kaiji at Year 30," his expression a delicate mix of hope, despair, anxiety, and fortune.

Kaiji Iroha Karuta Card Game / ¥2,750 (tax included)

Size: W70mm × H95mm

A selection of some of the most memorable quotes from the Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji series, compiled into a traditional karuta card set. The 46-card deck spans iconic lines, bewildering lines, and everything in between. Fans might even try playing in reverse — guessing the dialogue from the illustrated card alone.

Multi-Case / ¥2,860 (tax included)

Size: W145mm × H200mm × D20mm

Inspired by the cover of Volume 10 of the manga — featuring the "organ destruction device" used in the E-Card showdown against Tonegawa — this multi-case opens to reveal pockets and mesh holders of various sizes, making it a practical everyday item and travel accessory alike.

Waterproof Stickers (Set of 3) / ¥550 each (tax included)

Sizes:

  • Kaiji vs. Ichijo: W85mm × H115mm
  • No Count: W81mm × H115mm
  • Steel Beam Walk: W79mm × H115mm

Three sticker designs created to mark the series' 30th anniversary: the nerve-wracking "Steel Beam Walk," the notorious "No Count" call by Chief Otsuki, and the tense face-off between Ichijo and Kaiji. Each design blends the series' characteristic dark atmosphere with a pop sensibility.

Smartphone-Size Waterproof Sticker Set (2 Pieces) / ¥880 (tax included)

Sizes:

  • Numa: W55mm × H78mm
  • Teiai: W56mm × H70mm

Two mini waterproof stickers featuring "Man-Eating Pachinko Numa" and the "Teiai Group" led by Hyōdō — two of the most beloved icons from the series. Sized to fit on a smartphone or inside a clear case, these are a subtle way to show your Kaiji fandom.

Lenticular Keychain / ¥1,430 (tax included)

Size: W50mm × H55.3mm

A lenticular keychain that shifts between two images depending on the viewing angle: Kaiji beaming with confidence and determination at one angle, then shifting to a tearful Kaiji accepting defeat at another. A fittingly poetic keepsake for fans of the series' emotional rollercoaster.

"Steel Beam Walk" B2 Poster / ¥2,200 (tax included) — Hakaba no Garō Nakano Store Exclusive

Size: B2 (W515mm × H728mm)

A large-format B2 poster capturing the "Steel Beam Walk," one of the most fearful and tension-filled showdowns in the entire series. A collage of memorable scenes surrounds a central image of Kaiji, expression torn between terror and resolve. Available exclusively at the Nakano store.

Purchase Bonus: Signature Expression Postcard

One "signature expression postcard" is included as a free gift with every ¥5,000 (tax included) spent on Kaiji-related merchandise. At the physical store, customers may choose their preferred design; orders via the Online Store will receive a random design.

As a special venue-only benefit, customers who spend ¥15,000 (tax included) or more will also receive one spin on the "Numa" Panel Gacha — with a special prize waiting for those who make it through the Numa.

New Photo Spot: "Finger Guillotine"

Currently under construction.

Following the popular "Steel Beam Walk" and "Grilled Dogeza" photo spots at previous events, the venue will feature a new installation: the "Finger Guillotine." In the series, each finger is worth 20 million yen — and a wrong move costs you the finger. Visitors can slip a finger into the prop installation (knowing full well it's just an exhibit) and capture that mix of hope and dread in a photo. An ice bucket will be provided on standby.

Additionally, life-size standees of Itō Kaiji and Ichijo Seiya — originally displayed at the Gyakkyo Kaikōroku Dai Kaiji Ten — will be placed at the entrance showcase of the Nakano store, recreating a famous scene from the underground casino's Pachinko Numa area.

A new illustration of Kaiji — the most up-to-date version of the character, drawn specifically for this pop-up store by Nobuyuki Fukumoto — will also appear throughout the event, on flyers, merchandise, and more.
