Sanrio-Inspired KAWAII Afternoon Tea Debuts at THE SUN & THE MOON (Restaurant) in Roppongi Hills

THE SUN & THE MOON (Restaurant), situated on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower with sweeping views of Tokyo, is hosting a limited-time collaboration afternoon tea called "KAWAII Afternoon Tea –Final ver.–" in partnership with the "Sanrio Exhibition FINAL ver.: 60 Years of Japan's Kawaii Culture." The event runs from April 24 (Friday) to June 21 (Sunday), 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last order 3:00 PM).

Timed with the arrival of the "Sanrio Exhibition" at Roppongi – which first toured Japan in 2021 to mark Sanrio's 60th anniversary and has returned with new content for this final edition – the restaurant has crafted an afternoon tea menu that brings popular Sanrio characters to life in edible form.

Sanrio's Kawaii World Meets THE MOON's Elegant Afternoon Tea

The afternoon tea blends Sanrio's signature kawaii aesthetic with THE MOON's refined adult elegance. Tiers 1, 2, 3, and 5 are themed around the pink color palette of "Sanrio Exhibition FINAL ver." and feature eight types of sweets: four original character sweets and four THE MOON signature creations.

Standouts include the "My Melody Shortcake Parfait," which pairs a ganache cream with a strawberry and lemon jelly; the "Hello Kitty Apple Candy-Style Brûlée," offering the sweetness of apple jam with the depth of caramel; the "Cinnamoroll Strawberry & Banana Tart"; and the "Pompompurin Seasonal Fruit Pudding à la Mode." The lineup is designed to balance an eye-catching cuteness with a sweet-and-tangy flavor profile suited to adult tastes.

Tiers 4 and 6 are dedicated to savory selections, with the "Pochacco Potato Salad Sandwich" as the centerpiece, accompanied by a dried fruit & nuts cream cheese cracker, a bacon and spinach mini quiche, and a beet & soy milk potage.
