KITAKYUSHU OPEN TOP BUS Launches, Touring Kokura Castle, Mojiko Retro Area, and Wakato Bridge

Starting March 27, 2026 (Reiwa 8), Kitakyushu City will launch the KITAKYUSHU OPEN TOP BUS, allowing visitors to enjoy the city from a higher perspective than usual. Two routes are planned: the "Mojiko Course" and the "Wakato Bridge Course," visiting numerous tourist attractions including the Kitakyushu industrial area—one of Japan's leading industrial regions—the Kanmon Bridge and Wakato Bridge along the Hibiki Bay coast, and historically and culturally valuable sites like Kokura Castle and the Mojiko Retro Area.

Operation Overview

Courses

Mojiko Course

①Mojiko Course (Approximately 90 minutes)

This route offers spectacular views of the retro seaside townscape, Mojiko Station (an Important Cultural Property), and the Kanmon Bridge connecting Honshu and Kyushu from directly underneath.

Wakato Bridge Course

②Wakato Bridge Course (Approximately 90 minutes)

This route takes you close to the Wakato Bridge, Kitakyushu's industrial area, and provides an up-close view of the massive wind turbines of one of Japan's largest wind power generation facilities. Enjoy different scenery during day and night.
