Nyoirinji Temple (如意輪寺), also known as Kaeru-dera (かえる寺), in Ogori City, Fukuoka Prefecture, holds its annual "Fukoue" (楓光会) light-up, which illuminates the temple grounds over three fantastical nights. Autumn leaves, bamboo lanterns, Japanese umbrellas (wagasa), and paper balloons are lit by soft light and take on a different look from the daytime scenery. Visitors can enjoy a special time created by the gentle glow of the lights.
