Kobe Minato Onsen Ren, a natural hot spring inn located in Chuo Ward, Kobe, is bringing back its popular tent sauna event to mark a decade of operation. The "10th Anniversary Kansha Onrei! Tent Sauna" event is scheduled for April 18 (Saturday) and 19 (Sunday), 2026. The event was originally held in January but had to be cancelled due to unfavorable weather. Following strong demand from guests wishing to attend, a revival has been confirmed.
Over the two days, two 12-person tent saunas will be set up, and guests can enjoy aufguss sessions led by Aufgiesser (heat masters). After the sauna, the outdoor heated pool serves as a refreshing alternative to a cold-water bath. A "recovery space" beside the pool will offer sauna-themed food and drinks.

Aufguss Performances by 10 Heat Masters

Aufguss is a sauna tradition from Germany in which heated sauna stones have water poured over them to generate steam, which an Aufgiesser then fans toward participants using a bath towel or similar tool — raising humidity and perceived temperature for a comfortably intense and refreshing sauna experience.
This event features 10 Aufgiesser, including "Nan-chan," a sauna evangelist known for performances said to bring great luck, and "RINA," who delivers gentle breezes and soothing aromas. Aufguss sessions take place every 30 minutes throughout the day.
