KURAND's 'Sweet Sake and Ice Cream Paradise' Pop-Up Opens in Shinjuku With Over 10,000 Possible Combinations

Sake Market Shinjuku, located in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward, is hosting a limited-time pop-up called "Sweet Sake and Ice Cream Paradise produced by KURAND" from Wednesday, August 12 to Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The event pairs sweet sake and liqueurs from the online sake retailer KURAND with ice cream, letting visitors put together their own original adult dessert. Reservations can be made at tablecheck.com.

The Appeal of Ice Cream x Sweet Sake

KURAND has long proposed pouring sake over ice cream as a way to enjoy both. Among its lineup, "Tsumi," a fruit liqueur developed specifically to be poured over ice cream, has ranked No. 1 in cumulative annual shipments (combined across the Tsumi series) every year since its launch in August 2020, and its "Enchanting Strawberry" flavor is the best-selling single item in the range.

Over 10,000 Possible Combinations

The venue offers 10 ice cream flavors handpicked to go with sake, 100 varieties of sweet sake — including fruit liqueurs, plum wine, and other liqueurs chosen for how well they pair with ice cream — and 10 colorful toppings. Staff serve the ice cream into a dedicated cup at the counter, and guests then help themselves to their choice of sake and toppings, creating an original adult dessert from more than 10,000 possible combinations. A student discount is also available: showing a student ID at the front desk gets guests ¥300 off.
