LASTFRAME, a brand built on the concept of "passing Japan's world-class traditional techniques on to the future," will release new items in its "METALLIC" series on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The brand focuses on Japanese traditional techniques and turns them into original designs through the contemporary interpretation of designer Takanohiro Okude (奥出貴ノ洋).
The "METALLIC" series uses lamé thread developed with advanced technology, inspired by the gold and silver threads (金銀糸) that have been handed down as part of Kyoto's traditional culture. The delicately shimmering thread changes its look with the angle of the light and with movement, and together with the texture unique to knitwear, it gives the bags a rich, layered appearance.
The bags are made on special knitting machines, of which only a few exist in Japan. The material has a firm feel yet is lightweight, resists stretching vertically, and has enough stretch horizontally. The result is a LASTFRAME original that combines the flexibility of a knit bag with more storage capacity and usability than its looks suggest.

This is a reversible knit bag whose inside and outside can be swapped by untying the knot in the shoulder strap. It can be carried as a shoulder bag or a crossbody bag, so the way it is worn can be adapted to the outfit. The "MARKET BAG" is the brand's signature item. Based on a marché bag, this knit bag has a simple, functional shape. The MEDIUM size can hold a 13-inch laptop, so it works for both everyday use and business settings. The adjustable-length strap is made of recycled leather reusing offcuts of genuine leather.

LASTFRAME is a Japanese brand founded on the concept of "passing Japan's world-class traditional techniques on to the future." Drawing on the many cultures around the world that designer Takanohiro Okude (奥出貴ノ洋) has experienced, it expresses its designs with a commitment to Made in Japan. It focuses in particular on traditional techniques whose craftspeople are declining in number each year, and presents them in original designs through the designer's contemporary interpretation. While carrying on Japanese traditional techniques, the brand aims for designs that are loved and handed down across borders, eras, seasons, and genders, and it presents itself to the world as a Made in Japan luxury brand.
"LAST" carries two different meanings, "the end" and "to endure." LASTFRAME frames Japan's vanishing craft and traditional techniques, turning them into designs and products so that they endure. LASTFRAME is both the brand name and the name of the activity itself: passing Japan's world-class traditional techniques on to the future.
Designer Profile
Takanohiro Okude (奥出貴ノ洋) worked as a designer at several brands in Japan and abroad before going independent in 2016, and launched LASTFRAME in 2018. Since 2019, he has presented collections in Paris in an exhibition format, and the brand began to be carried at Selfridges, BROWNS, and other retailers, expanding mainly in major cities around the world. In September 2024, LASTFRAME opened its first directly operated store at Hankyu Umeda Main Store (阪急うめだ本店).
