LE UN Kobe Geihinkan Brings Three Generations Together for a "Gourmet Course Wishing for Longevity," a 3-Day-Only Menu Celebrating Respect for the Aged Day

LE UN Kobe Geihinkan, the restaurant inside Kobe Geihinkan Kyu Nishio-tei in Kobe, Hyogo, is offering a special course tied to Respect for the Aged Day for three days only, from Sunday, September 20 through Tuesday, September 22 (a public holiday), 2026. The course is called "<3-Day-Only Plan> A Gourmet Course Wishing for Longevity — 身体に優しい、秋の恵み (Gentle on the Body, Autumn's Bounty)."

Plan Highlights

Family celebrations around Respect for the Aged Day often bring together generations with very different tastes and appetites. This plan addresses that by offering both the "Gourmet Course Wishing for Longevity" and the restaurant's regular full course side by side, so each family member can choose the course that best suits their preference and the occasion.

The special course is crafted as a heartfelt tribute to the honoree, while the regular full course caters to the rest of the family — a structure designed so that everyone at the table can enjoy their own dish at their own pace, right through to the end.

The menu draws on local specialties such as Kobe pork and Tamba black soybeans, along with autumn ingredients like sanma (Pacific saury), amadai (tilefish), annoimo (Annō sweet potato), and Japanese pear, so that every course brings a taste of the season — a warm way for families to mark a milestone of longevity together.

A Message from Chef Tsuyoshi Kubota of LE UN Kobe Geihinkan

Every September, many families come to us across three generations to celebrate the longevity of parents and grandparents. This special course was created with the wish that they continue to stay healthy and spend joyful time together with their families.

The course opens with a dish built around fermented ingredients, moves through richly flavored ingredients such as abalone, scallop, and Tamba black soybeans, continues with a fish course pairing the umami of fish with root vegetables, and then a meat course of Kobe pork with Annō sweet potato. It closes with a dessert of yogurt and berries, rounding out a special occasion for the whole family.

We will keep listening to our guests and continue to be a restaurant they can turn to for their most important celebrations, offering dishes suited to every kind of milestone.

Background

Kobe Geihinkan has long been a favored setting for milestone celebrations in the local community, and in recent years it has increasingly welcomed guests spanning three generations for birthdays and other special occasions.

As the number of returning guests grows, the restaurant wanted to keep offering meaningful celebration time for families marking life's milestones, and that wish led to this plan — one course built around the idea of treasuring the time a family spends together at the same table, across generations, while still meeting everyone's individual needs.

Through a special course built around local Hyogo ingredients and autumn's seasonal flavors, the plan offers a warm, memorable occasion for generations to share a meal together inside a historic Western-style mansion.
