Little World Museum of Man's "Umbrella Sky" Event Is On Until June 30 in Inuyama, Aichi

The popular "Umbrella Sky" early-summer event is currently underway at Little World Museum of Man in Inuyama, Aichi, and runs through June 30 (Tuesday), 2026. The installation is set up at the Turkish Istanbul Street fountain plaza, where a canopy of colorful umbrellas creates a striking photogenic space surrounded by exotic streetscapes.

What Is "Umbrella Sky"?

The Umbrella Sky concept traces its roots to Águeda, a city in central Portugal, where a summer arts festival has long featured colorful umbrellas suspended across streets and public spaces. The eye-catching display went on to gain popularity worldwide and is now celebrated in cities around the globe as a beloved outdoor art installation.

At Little World Museum of Man, the event has become a signature feature of early summer, held each year during the rainy season.

Turkish Costume Experience

Inside the Turkish Istanbul Street area, visitors can also try a Turkish costume rental experience (500 yen per outfit, 5 minutes). Putting on the colorful traditional attire and taking photos against the Umbrella Sky backdrop creates the feel of an overseas journey without leaving Japan.
