A large collection of original animation cels by director Kiyotaka Oshiyama and other animators are on display. A standout feature is the "animation tunnel," where cels are suspended throughout the space, creating an immersive, high-impact installation. Visitors can also view notes, character design sheets, and production artwork from throughout the filmmaking process, all presented at a scale only possible in an exhibition setting.

Two photo spots recreate key settings from the film: Fujino's room, where the two protagonists worked on their creative projects, and the hallway stacked with sketchbooks leading to Kyomoto's room — a pivotal location in the story. Visitors can step into the world of Look Back and experience these spaces firsthand.

Tatsuki Fujimoto's Original Storyboards on Display

Display of Tatsuki Fujimoto's original storyboard for Look Back

With the special cooperation of original creator Tatsuki Fujimoto, a dedicated exhibition area features his storyboards for Look Back. Originally distributed in limited quantities as a bonus with the theatrical release, portions of these storyboards are now being shown to the general public for the first time. It's a rare opportunity to see how the original manga was conceived, alongside the world of the animated film.

About Look Back

STORY

Fourth-grader Fujino publishes a four-panel manga strip in her school newspaper and receives high praise from her classmates. One day, her teacher asks to include strips by Kyomoto, a reclusive classmate who never comes to school. What connects the two girls is an earnest passion for drawing manga. But one day, an event shatters everything — a breathtaking coming-of-age story begins.
