Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho (4-6-1 Kinshi, Sumida-ku, Tokyo) began selling limited year-end and New Year stay plans on October 9, 2026 (Fri). The plans are designed for guests who want to spend the turn of the year at the hotel, and they bring together Japanese New Year traditions and food, including toshikoshi soba (year-end soba noodles) on New Year's Eve and a "New Year Special Breakfast Buffet" available only on January 1 (Fri, public holiday) and January 2 (Sat), 2027.
On January 1, the hotel will also hold its original capsule toy event "Shinshun Undameshi: Fuku Maneki" (新春運だめし～福招き～), which was also well received last year. Prizes include a stay voucher for Lotte Arai Resort, so guests can try their luck for the new year with a touch of the playful spirit of the Lotte Group. Events such as a mochi-pounding event, complimentary amazake, and "Yukimi Cho-Shiruko" will also mark the arrival of the new year.
Good Fortune From the Hotel: Japanese New Year Traditions and Hospitality
For guests spending the year-end and New Year holidays at the hotel, the plans include traditional New Year events and food along with the hotel's own playful touches. The plans take "fortune" (福, fuku) as their theme, a nod to the name of General Manager Tomoya Fukui (福井朋也), and carry wishes for good fortune to everyone welcoming the new year.

On New Year's Eve, the hotel will serve its special toshikoshi soba. Guests can enjoy a warm bowl of soba to close out the year and ease into the new one. The soba can be eaten at the restaurant Charlotte or in the guest room.
New Year Special Breakfast Buffet

The "New Year Special Breakfast Buffet" is available for two days only, on January 1 and 2. The spread includes osechi (traditional New Year dishes) given a Western-style arrangement, along with a variety of other dishes.
Mochi-Pounding Event, Complimentary Amazake and Yukimi Cho-Shiruko

On New Year's morning, the hotel will hold a mochi-pounding event, a traditional New Year activity in which staying guests can take part. Non-alcoholic complimentary amazake, which children can also enjoy, will be served in keeping with the New Year custom of praying for good health and a good harvest. "Yukimi Cho-Shiruko" will also appear: a Western-style oshiruko (sweet soup) made by floating Lotte's Mini Yukimi Daifuku in hot chocolate, adding a playful touch from a Lotte Group hotel at the start of the year.
