MAISON CLASSIC SALON — the echinaka lounge on the 3rd floor outside the south ticket gates of Takanawa Gateway Station — is hosting a special dog-friendly evening event called "DOG TERRACE NIGHT" on Friday, May 22, 2026. Beginning at 6:00 PM, dog owners can bring their pets to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the station while savoring the venue's signature pancakes.

MAISON CLASSIC SALON opened in March of last year as one of three MAISON CLASSIC brand venues that launched simultaneously. During the day it operates as a pancake café, and in the evenings it becomes a lounge bar offering original cocktails. The terrace seating — where guests can listen to the sounds of passing trains while enjoying quality food and drinks — is one of the venue's defining features.
"DOG TERRACE NIGHT" is designed for dog owners to unwind on the terrace with their pets at a relaxed pace. Given that many regular customers already visit with their dogs, the event is a natural fit for MAISON CLASSIC SALON — offering a chance for dog lovers to mingle and make special memories with their companions.
Pancakes for Owners, Caneles for Dogs
Attendees will receive MAISON CLASSIC SALON's signature pancakes, steamed to order for a fluffy, tender texture. Dogs will also receive complimentary "dog caneles" — both to enjoy on the spot and a packaged portion to take home.
A CLASSIC in-house photographer will also be present to capture photos of guests with their dogs on the terrace overlooking Takanawa Gateway Station.

Sweet Pancakes
MAISON CLASSIC Pancake
The standard pancake that lets the natural flavors of the ingredients shine. Served with fermented salted butter cream made with sea salt from Guérande, France — gently sweet with a pleasant hint of saltiness.
Fresh Blueberry & Confiture Pancake
Features both fresh blueberries and blueberry confiture (jam), offering the bright natural aroma of fresh fruit alongside the concentrated richness of the cooked variety.
Apple Cinnamon Caramel Pancake
Topped with apple cooked in a caramel cream infused with cinnamon and vanilla. The fermented salted butter cream pairs particularly well with this rich, warming combination.
Savory Pancakes
Bacon & Salad Eggs Benedict Pancake
Inspired by classic eggs benedict — traditionally served with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin — this version places bacon and smoked salmon atop a steamed pancake. Also recommended as a satisfying light meal.
Shrimp Americaine Pancake
Spice-marinated sautéed shrimp served over a steamed pancake, topped generously with Americaine sauce made from the rich umami of shellfish. The contrast between the gently sweet pancake and the bold, savory shrimp is the highlight of this dish.

About the Photographer: Rika Tomomatsu
Rika Tomomatsu is a photographer and filmmaker based in Tokyo, originally from Gifu Prefecture. She is a member of the publishing unit "(TT) press" and helps run "platform3," a gathering place for books and people in Higashi-Nakano. Through book curation and events centered on Asia, queerness, and feminism, she creates spaces where quiet voices and distant cultures can be discovered. She is also working on "beside.days," a project documenting pets and the people beside them.
