On September 12, 2026 (Saturday), Achiterasu Kurashiki will host "MERCADO RICO CRAFT BEER," a craft beer-themed event organized by Tamashima Shinkin Bank, based in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture.
The venue brings together craft beers from Kurashiki breweries alongside "ハイッ チアーズ！," a craft beer produced by volunteer students at Okayama Prefectural University, plus a further lineup of regional craft beers introduced through the shinkin bank's nationwide network of partner institutions.
To go with the beer, food stalls will serve Tsuyama's sozuri meat burgers, Brazilian home cooking, pork and beef skewers, fried chicken, and chicken steak, along with blueberry ice cream. The venue will also display 5kg and 10kg "muscle mugs" crafted by Oka Tekkosho Co., Ltd.
Enjoying a Diverse Lineup of Craft Beers
The craft beers on offer this time include "OKAYAMA JIMOTO BEER 086" from Kurashiki Brewing Company, "RED IPA" from LAMP BEER STUDIO, and "ハイッ チアーズ！" from OPU Craft Beer Lab, a group of volunteer students at Okayama Prefectural University.
Beers from a range of different brewers, each with its own character, can be enjoyed together in one venue — a highlight of this event.
Tamashima Shinkin Bank is also drawing on its ties with other shinkin banks around the country, introducing craft beers from client businesses in other regions and selling them at the venue.
Alongside beers from Kurashiki and Okayama, visitors can also encounter craft beers from other areas, connected through the shinkin bank network.

"ハイッ チアーズ！," featured at this event, is a craft beer produced by OPU Craft Beer Lab, a group of volunteer students at Okayama Prefectural University.
OPU Craft Beer Lab is active with the aim of sharing the appeal of the local area through craft beer and creating new connections.
"ハイッ チアーズ！" is a beer developed by the students working together with a local brewery, with student ideas reflected in the product name and design as well.
Visitors to the event can taste a craft beer born out of the students' own challenge.
A Variety of Food and Sweets to Pair With the Beer
The venue will also bring together food and sweets to enjoy alongside the beer.
Vendors include Su cafe with its "Tsuyama Sozuri Meat Burger," Saborosa with Brazilian home cooking, PAPY with pork and beef skewers, カリッジュ倉敷店 with fried chicken, and mobile vendor comedor with chicken steak (choice of four sauces), along with Aozora Farm's blueberry ice cream.
Visitors can enjoy the event in their own style — pairing food with their favorite beer, or enjoying drinks and sweets between beers.
On Display: The Trending 5kg and 10kg "Muscle Mugs"
The venue will also display "muscle mugs" made by Oka Tekkosho Co., Ltd.
Oka Tekkosho is a company that handles metalworking such as can-making, sheet metal work, and welding. Born from that technology and creativity, the muscle mugs have been drawing attention for their overwhelming heft and impact.
On display this time are the 5kg and 10kg muscle mugs. Visitors can get an up-close look at their imposing presence, a world away from an everyday beer mug.
