American outdoor brand MERRELL (imported and distributed in Japan by Marubeni Consumer Link Co., Ltd.) has announced the release of two new models from the MERRELL 1TRL collection. The CHAM REDUX RMT and its summer edition, the CHAM REDUX SIEVE, both reimagine the DNA of the brand's iconic archive model CHAMELEON with a modern perspective. Both shoes went on sale from June 19, 2026 (Friday) at select stores.
A New-Generation Standard Balancing Functional Reliability and Cultural Identity
The CHAMELEON first appeared in the early 2000s and has earned a devoted following as one of MERRELL's most representative icons. The CHAM REDUX RMT builds on that distinctive presence and versatility while adding a contemporary interpretation. The upper combines premium suede leather with breathable open-weave mesh, incorporating a delicate motif that evokes traditional lacework. A "2 Tone Torn Camo" design creates a unique sense of shadow and depth, fusing the heritage atmosphere with modern sensibility. The shoe also features a toggle lacing system for easy on-and-off and a TPU heel counter for added stability, delivering seamless functionality from city environments to nature.
Launching alongside it, the CHAM REDUX SIEVE is a summer season model reconstructed from CHAMELEON's silhouette. Its layered upper combines leather and neoprene, with open mesh panels and a motif inspired by historical designs. The result strikes a balance between a light, breathable fit and a handcrafted character. Like its companion model, it incorporates the "2 Tone Torn Camo" to express both reverence for the archive and a modern utility design language.
Both models feature FloatMax™ foam midsoles, delivering excellent cushioning and a comfortable walking experience to support a wide range of scenes from everyday commuting to weekend light outdoor activities.
