MILKMAGIC Turns to Jelly When Mixed With Milk, New Liqueur Launching October 1

A new liqueur that changes texture when mixed with milk is coming from Wakayama Prefecture. Nakano BC Co., Ltd., a sake brewery based in Kainan City, is releasing MILKMAGIC on October 1, 2026, a new liqueur themed around being "an alcoholic drink adults can play with."

The lineup offers three tea flavors — coffee, hoji cha, and matcha — for an enticing tea-time experience.

MILKMAGIC turns to jelly when mixed with milk

Pour MILKMAGIC into milk and stir, and it instantly turns into a jelly-like texture. With its springy, jiggly mouthfeel, it can be enjoyed as a grown-up jelly drink. It's sweet and easy to drink, making it a good option even for people who aren't keen on alcohol.

Developed by applying technology used for things like imitation salmon roe, this "playable" liqueur offers a new way to enjoy alcohol.

Tea flavors that pair well with milk

Tea flavors have been gaining popularity in the alcohol industry in recent years.

Amid a growing health consciousness, matcha and green tea have also become a trend overseas. MILKMAGIC is launching simultaneously in three tea flavors that pair well with milk:

  • MILKMAGIC Hoji Cha
  • MILKMAGIC Matcha
  • MILKMAGIC Coffee

Add your own toppings to enjoy a grown-up tea time.
