Miyazaki Hinata Fruits Fair 2026 Brings Premium Kinkan and Hyuganatsu to Restaurants Across Japan

The Miyazaki Brand Promotion Headquarters (Miyazaki Prefecture and JA Miyazaki) is hosting the Miyazaki Hinata Fruits Fair 2026, running through March 10th at approximately 130 restaurants across Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Miyazaki. The fair showcases original menus featuring the prefecture's prized citrus varieties: perfectly ripened kinkan "Tamatama" and hyuganatsu.

What Are Hinata Fruits?

Hinata Fruits logo

The term "Hinata Fruits" refers to two of Miyazaki Prefecture's signature citrus fruits: perfectly ripened kinkan "Tamatama" and hyuganatsu. The name comes from the colors of these fruits, which match the "Sunny Miyazaki" (Hinata Miyazaki) brand mark colors.

Perfectly Ripened Kinkan "Tamatama"

Kinkan Tamatama

This greenhouse-grown kinkan is left to ripen on the tree for 210 days after flowering. Only fruits with a sugar content of 16 degrees or higher and a diameter of 28mm or more qualify as "Tamatama." These can be enjoyed whole, skin and all, for a delicious burst of sweetness.

Hyuganatsu

Hyuganatsu

Native to Miyazaki Prefecture, hyuganatsu has a unique characteristic: its white pith contains sweetness, creating a distinctive flavor when eaten together with the fruit. This sets it apart from other citrus varieties.

Fair Overview

The fair celebrates the peak season for Miyazaki's specialty citrus fruits: perfectly ripened kinkan "Tamatama" and hyuganatsu. Participating restaurants in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Miyazaki are offering original menus featuring these fruits. This marks the 10th anniversary of the fair, which began in 2017 to promote awareness of these premium citrus varieties among consumers both within and outside the prefecture.
