About NEUHAUS
Founded in 1857, NEUHAUS is in its 169th year as an original Belgian chocolate house with its flagship store in Galerie de la Reine in Brussels, Belgium. It has appeared at a World Expo held in Belgium and built close ties with the Belgian Royal Family, and its chocolates have been recognized with the title of Belgian Royal Warrant holder.
NEUHAUS began as a pharmacy. Its founder, Jean Neuhaus (ジャン・ノイハウス), first coated medicine in chocolate to please customers. Later, third-generation Jean Neuhaus Jr. (ジャン・ノイハウス ジュニア) inherited his grandfather's vision and created the bite-sized bonbon chocolates that remain familiar today. Jean Neuhaus Jr.'s wife also developed the Ballotin box, the origin of the chocolate box. Today the brand is loved around the world as an essential name in the history of chocolate.
