Novotel Nara (Nara City, Nara Prefecture) is running a limited-time summer rooftop beer garden on its 8F Rooftop Terrace from June 1 (Monday) to October 31 (Saturday), 2026. Guests can enjoy charcoal-grilled dishes made with Nara-sourced ingredients alongside beer, champagne, and cocktails while taking in the open-air atmosphere.
Charcoal-Grilled Baaku Pork and Beer-Friendly Sides
The star of the grill menu is Baaku pork (ばあく豚), a brand pork native to Nara Prefecture valued for its sweet fat and rich umami. It is cooked over charcoal for a fragrant, juicy result.
The menu also includes grilled sausages, Cajun-style fried chicken, and house-made Baaku pork bacon over charcoal — all pairing well with cold beer. An unlimited potato fry option is available throughout the session, served with dipping sauces including smoky BBQ and curry-flavored mayonnaise.
The lineup takes an international turn with Plov, a rice dish from Samarkand, Uzbekistan — a sister city of Nara — as well as spiced edamame. The meal closes with a dessert pizza topped with toasted marshmallow for a sweet finish.
Two Free-Flow Drink Plans
Two drink plans are available to suit different occasions:
- Standard Free-Flow: Draft beer, red wine, white wine, assorted cocktails (including a Gin Tonic made with ROKU GIN), soft drinks, coffee, and tea
- Premium Free-Flow: All Standard options plus Laurent-Perrier Champagne
Both plans run for 90 minutes.
A Summer Evening on the Rooftop
The 8F Rooftop Terrace offers a relaxed open-air setting where the sky shifts from dusk to night while guests eat and drink. The atmosphere is casual but polished, suitable for an evening out with friends or colleagues.
In the event of rain, guests will be accommodated in an indoor venue.
