Numazu City is a member of the Hojo Godai Kanko Suishin Kyogikai (Hojo Five Generations Tourism Promotion Council), a group of 12 cities and 2 towns whose municipal offices and tourism associations share ties with the Odawara Hojo clan. The clan governed the Kanto region for five generations—spanning roughly a century—during the Warring States period, and Numazu is home to several related historical sites, including the Nagahama Castle ruins, a former stronghold of the Suigun naval forces. The council works to introduce the history and culture of the Hojo clan to people across Japan through tourism and regional revitalization activities.

At this year's Yorii Hojo Festival, a Numazu-based vendor will set up a stall at the "Hojo Food Battle" area in the Taishi-sama Parking Lot, selling dried fish and horse mackerel fry.
