The watch brand Orient Star announces the release of its latest five models in the Modern Skeleton collection on March 5, 2026. These new timepieces feature a redesigned dial that has been a beloved element since the collection's inception. The updated design expands the distinctive openwork area on the dial, increases the small seconds display for better visibility, and introduces trendy color combinations with radial and sandblasted finishes that enhance the watch's striking appearance.

Orient Star's Modern Skeleton has been a long-selling popular model both domestically and internationally since its debut in 2014. The latest models present a renewed dial design that has earned affection over the years. The dial has evolved to showcase more skeletal elements by increasing the openwork surface area. For the first time, the collection features rail-shaped openwork extending almost entirely around the dial along the indices, as well as openwork surrounding the power reserve indicator. Additionally, the small seconds subdial at the 6 o'clock position has been enlarged significantly, making it much more legible. These updates further emphasize the distinctive character of the Modern Skeleton collection.

The stylish dial that defines the Modern Skeleton's character gains even more appeal through new finishes and color schemes. Four models feature radial finishing on the upper plate, available in subdued shades of green, blue, gray, and white. These colors integrate with the visible movement beneath the openwork to create a cohesive new facial design. Another finishing option uses a sandblasted pattern created through stamping. This texture produces a rougher feel than traditional matte finishes and is adorned in a muted beige tone called "nuance color." While the radial-finished dials are paired with high-quality stainless steel (SUS316L) metal bands, the sandblasted finish model comes with a gray leather band that matches the dial color, creating a chic and refined aesthetic.

The renewed Modern Skeleton that presents a fresh image is powered by the in-house caliber F6F44 automatic movement. This movement delivers stable high precision with a daily rate of plus 25 to minus 15 seconds and features a power reserve exceeding 50 hours. Visible from both the new dial and the see-through case back, the mechanical movement delights watch enthusiasts from every angle.
