A new café, over the central (オーバー ザ セントラル), is set to open on Saturday, May 16, 2026, on the 3rd floor of the Sanei Nishi-Shinsaibashi Building in Shinsaibashi, Osaka.

A Multi-Sensory Café Concept

The concept behind over the central is to engage all five senses — taste, sight, sound, smell, and touch — creating moments that stir emotion and become lasting memories. The space is designed to feel both comfortable and invigorating, blending the everyday with the extraordinary.

Open Central Kitchen

Rather than keeping kitchen operations out of sight, over the central features a central kitchen designed to be fully visible. Guests can take in the aromas, the ingredients, and the skill of the kitchen team right from their seats, adding a live, theatrical quality to the dining experience.

Furniture Available for Purchase via TOPSO

Through a collaboration with furniture brand TOPSO (https://topso.jp), some of the furniture used throughout the café will be available for customers to purchase. This gives visitors a new kind of retail experience — the chance to take home the very pieces they've been sitting with.

Menu: Coffee, Wine, and More

The menu at over the central extends well beyond coffee. Guests can expect wine, open sandwiches, desserts, and ice cream, offering options for different times of day.

Design and Creative Team

The interior of over the central was designed by Ryo Suzuki and Ayumi Suzuki of ATMA/AtMa inc. (https://atma-inc.com), a studio working across fashion stores, cafés, restaurants, installations, window displays, furniture, and product design.

The project also features input from two well-known figures in the Japanese food and beverage scene: Keitaro Suzuki (CAMELBACK RICH VALLEY / Good Good not Bad / LAMBERT) and Hiroki Sarumaru (PIZZA SLICE / ARC), who have contributed as advisors across brand development and menu supervision.

Original Merchandise

Original goods branded with the café's logo — including T-shirts, caps, aprons, and cutlery — are also planned for sale, giving visitors a way to take a piece of the over the central world home with them.
