PLUS ART FAIR 2026 at Cross Hotel Sapporo Transforms Guest Rooms into Galleries for 3 Days

From April 3 to 5, 2026, Cross Hotel Sapporo (Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido) will host "PLUS ART FAIR 2026," a three-day art event in which eight rooms on the 13th floor are transformed into individual gallery spaces where artists exhibit and sell their work.

Billed as the only hotel-based art fair of its kind in Hokkaido, the event allows guests to move from room to room and experience the distinct world of each participating artist. This year, 12 groups of artists are taking part in the room exhibitions, joined by three additional acts providing DJ sets and live performances, bringing the total to 15 groups.

The fair brings together creators working across a wide range of disciplines — watercolor painting, woodblock prints, wooden furniture, graphic design, and more — all with ties to Hokkaido. Visitors can view and purchase works while interacting directly with the artists in residence.

Participating artists include Koji Yuki, known for woodblock prints and sculptural works; Kotaro Hachinohe, who explores calligraphy and contemporary art around the world; Hiroaki Shimizu, a maker of solid-wood furniture and craft items; and Mugi Maeda, an illustrator and 3D artist active both in Japan and internationally.
