About the Illumination
Ninnaji Temple, with more than a thousand years of history, holds the "Autumn Foliage and Sea of Clouds Illumination" in its autumn-colored grounds. The light shines on the temple's historic buildings, including the Kondo, a National Treasure, and on the changing leaves, creating an atmospheric night view. A highlight is the view of the Kondo rising out of a sea of clouds spread across the grounds, which shows a different side of Ninnaji Temple from its daytime look.
