Sapporo Mitsukoshi will host the gold product exhibition and sale "Great Gold Exhibition" (大黄金展, Dai Ogon-ten) for 10 days, from Friday, October 30 to Sunday, November 8, 2026. Pure Gold Gholdengo Weighing About 15 g

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Pokémon Red and Green (ポケットモンスター 赤・緑). At the venue, a pure gold version of Gholdengo, the Pokémon listed as Pokédex No. 1000, will be on sale as the "K24 Gholdengo."

The product expresses Gholdengo's ability Good as Gold (おうごんのからだ), which is described as "its sturdy golden body, which does not oxidize, is unaffected by status moves from opponents." It weighs approximately 15 g and stands approximately 6 cm tall. The planned retail price is ¥1,540,000 (tax included).

More Than 1,000 Gold Items on Display

With retail gold prices in Japan staying high and attention on gold growing, the "Great Gold Exhibition" brings together more than 1,000 gold items in total. The lineup includes Buddhist altar items and Buddhist statues such as the "Golden Orin" (a Buddhist singing bowl) crafted by a Living National Treasure, popular oban and koban gold coins, Japanese and Western tableware, lucky charm ornaments, and prized items for enthusiasts. These gold crafts are a delight to look at.

The event also offers a buyback service for gold items and accessories. Precious metals left unused at home are appraised for free on the spot with an X-ray analyzer and purchased for cash.
