SCAPES THE SUITE, a compact design hotel in Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture, has opened reservations for its summer seasonal stay program FOUR SEASONS STAY "ESCAPE & TWILIGHT," available from July 1 (Wednesday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026. Limited to one group per day, the plan offers a private barbecue experience on the hotel's 4th-floor terrace as the evening sky transitions from sunset to night.
Last year's program drew strong interest, and this summer brings the same concept—an exclusive, non-everyday experience on a private terrace, set against the fantastical backdrop of Hayama's summer dusk.
Hayama, nestled between a tranquil sea and a deep forest, is known for its distinctly colored summer skies. High humidity in summer creates richly saturated skies, and the evening hues—often described as "akane-zora" (crimson skies)—offer a nostalgic, otherworldly landscape. During the special hours when twilight quietly gives way to night, guests can reserve exclusive use of the 4th-floor terrace for a smart barbecue featuring locally sourced ingredients.

Dinner: Smart BBQ
"Smart BBQ" is a concept promoted by the Japan BBQ Association as a guiding framework for creating a new barbecue culture in Japan. It encompasses considerations around safety, hygiene, the environment, and communication, aiming for a barbecue experience that is delicious, safe, and environmentally conscious.
At SCAPES THE SUITE, guests enjoy a sustainable "Smart BBQ" in the private setting of the 4th-floor terrace, accompanied by the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. The menu highlights ingredients unique to Hayama.
The main course features rib sirloin from Hayama Ishii Beef, a branded wagyu raised at Ishii Farm—a circular-farming operation rooted in Hayama—cooked on a smokeless grill and served as a steak. Side dishes include freshly harvested vegetables from the Miura Peninsula. Grown in the warm climate and fertile soil of Miura throughout the year, these diverse vegetables are as visually appealing as they are flavorful, and can be enjoyed raw or grilled.

Two dipping sauces are included: one based on Hayama summer mandarin orange and tomato. Hayama summer mandarin oranges are typically left unharvested; here, they are gathered and crafted into an original soy-based sauce. The fragrance and sweet-tart flavor of the summer mandarin enhances the taste of both the meat and the vegetables.
Private Jacuzzi and Limited-Edition Bath & Shower Gel
After dinner, guests can continue the evening exclusively in the jacuzzi adjoining the 4th-floor terrace. The floor-to-ceiling view of Hayama's sea—with Enoshima visible in the distance—offers an unparalleled sense of openness found only here.
For this plan, a dusty pink MOLTON BROWN Rose Dune Bath & Shower Gel is provided, evoking the crimson hues of the twilight sky. Guests can indulge in a luxurious bath time enveloped in a rich fragrance and shimmering gel.
Evening
After enjoying the barbecue and jacuzzi, guests can wind down in the gentle scent of Hayama with the soft glow of an aroma candle.
An aroma candle from HAYAMA AROMANCE, a local Hayama brand, is provided. The fresh, aquatic-floral fragrance—composed of lemon, lime, bitter orange, mimosa, lily of the valley, and other notes—evokes the image of the sea. As the ocean fades into darkness and only the sound of the waves remains, guests can close the day savoring the lingering ambiance of their evening in Hayama.
