Shaved Ice Specialty Shop "Shiroi Kumo" Opens in Kita-Senri for a Summer-Only Run

A new shaved ice specialty shop is opening in Kita-Senri this summer. "Shiroi Kumo" Kita-Senri will be open for a limited season, from July 15 (Wednesday) through September 23 (Wednesday), 2026, offering shaved ice desserts made with pure ice and seasonal fruit.

Shaved ice season is now in full swing, and "Shiroi Kumo" — the shaved ice specialty shop that won over many customers last summer — is coming to Kita-Senri this year. Each bowl is carefully shaved, one at a time, from "junpyo," a pure ice prized for its clear, glass-like beauty and slow, smooth melt, then paired with seasonal fruit and house-made fruit syrup for a treat available only this summer.

Whole Peach, Made with Wakayama's Arakawa Peach

The shop's most popular dessert, "Whole Peach," uses an entire Arakawa peach, a signature brand from Wakayama Prefecture. Grown in the region's warm climate and the well-drained soil of the Kinokawa River basin, the peach has a juicy, rich sweetness. Each bite brings out the fresh, juice-filled flavor of the fruit at its peak season.

Mango, Layered Through and Through

"Mango Zukushi" wraps fluffy pure ice in a generous layer of mango flesh, then tops it with fresh cream and more mango. Mango fruit syrup and a rich condensed milk sauce are tucked inside, so the mango flavor carries through to the last bite — a must for mango lovers.

Soft Mochi and Strawberry Daifuku

"Yawamochi Strawberry Daifuku" pairs fluffy pure ice with a rich, smooth daifuku cream, finished with fresh strawberries and strawberry fruit syrup. The sweet-tart aroma of the strawberries balances well with the rich, mochi-like cream.

The shop also offers a range of other shaved ice desserts made with seasonal fruit, available only through the summer.
