SPRING VALLEY BREWERY Releases Summer-Limited "Fruity Saison" Craft Beer

SPRING VALLEY BREWERY, Kirin Beer's craft beer brand, is releasing a summer-limited offering called "SPRING VALLEY BREWERY Fruity Saison (Limited Period)" (350ml can) nationwide on July 7, 2026 (Tuesday). Ahead of the general launch, the beer will be available on draft at the SPRING VALLEY BREWERY Tokyo and Kyoto directly operated brewpubs from June 1 (Monday), and through Tap Marché starting June 22 (Monday). Members of the Kirin Home Tap home draft service can expect delivery from July 2 (Thursday).

About the Beer Style: Saison

The Fruity Saison draws on the "saison" style — a beer originating in Belgium that farmworkers traditionally drank during breaks from summer fieldwork to quench their thirst. Inspired by that heritage, SPRING VALLEY BREWERY developed this beer with the idea of offering a craft beer that refreshes and cools on a summer afternoon.

To achieve its distinctive character, the brewing team used a "Dip Hop" technique — adding hops during the fermentation process — which suppresses bitterness and allows the aromatic, fruity notes derived from the yeast to shine through. The result is a beer that even those who typically find beer too bitter will find approachable.

The Fruity Saison delivers a yeast-forward fruity aroma and a refreshing, citrus-like finish on the palate. It pairs naturally with ingredients that share similar flavor profiles, such as lemon and sudachi (Japanese citrus), as well as grain-forward dishes like cold noodles — making it a fitting companion for a wide range of summer meals.

The SPRING VALLEY BREWERY Tokyo and Kyoto brewpubs will also offer limited-edition summer dishes designed to complement the Fruity Saison, including cold noodle options, starting June 1.

Packaging

The can features a design evoking a cool, refreshing summer pause. The reverse side includes a note from the development brewer sharing the story and intentions behind the recipe.

Pouring Recommendation

For the best experience, a single-pour method is recommended: tilt the glass at an angle and pour gently until about halfway, then straighten the glass to build a foam head.
