Suntory is set to release "Koodori Hops" (こおどりホップス), a limited-quantity happoushu (low-malt beer), nationwide on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
In recent years, an increasing number of happoushu drinkers have expressed a desire to explore a wider variety of drinks to match their moods. At the same time, a segment of consumers has reported hesitation about trying unfamiliar products, often because the packaging doesn't give them a clear sense of what the drink will taste like.
With that in mind, Suntory developed "Koodori Hops" — a limited-release happoushu with friendly, taste-evoking packaging and a multi-layered, fruity aroma profile designed to make it easier for anyone to pick up and enjoy.
About the Product and Packaging
The happoushu is brewed generously with Nelson Sauvin hops, a rare hop variety, to bring out complex, fruity aromas alongside a natural sweetness and a clean, crisp finish.
The packaging features a colorful background adorned with an illustration of a dancing character — "Koodori" means "dancing with joy" — alongside the label text "Fruity Craft." The design is intended to capture the lively atmosphere the product is meant to deliver, while also communicating the character of the drink inside.
