Two new canned products are joining Suntory's SUI (翠) gin lineup on Tuesday, March 31: "SUI Gin Soda Can (Refreshingly Light)" and "SUI Gin Soda Can (Full-Bodied Rich)," available nationwide.
Since launching in 2020, Suntory Gin SUI has shifted the image of gin from a cocktail ingredient to a food-pairing drink. The brand has gained strong support at izakayas and restaurants, with over 30,000 establishments now carrying it (Suntory estimate, as of December 2025).
Despite this popularity in the dining-out sector, research on home consumption found that consumers still face some hesitation with gin soda. Common questions included whether gin soda actually goes with everyday dinners and what its flavor profile is actually like.
SUI gin is crafted using Japanese botanicals — yuzu, green tea, and ginger — that naturally complement a wide range of Japanese cuisines. The two new canned varieties are designed to bring that food-pairing quality into home settings, while a revised price point aims to make the brand accessible to more consumers.

This variety is produced using a non-heat-sterilization process — meaning no heat treatment is applied after canning — which helps preserve the spirit's aroma and boosts carbonation. The result is a more pronounced gin character alongside a stronger fizz, aimed at those who want to taste the spirit as well as enjoy it with food.
The packaging features a white base, the same vibrant SUI gin soda illustration, gold "翠" lettering, and a "sugar-free" callout.
