Tango Kingdom Brewery Co., Ltd., a regional trading company based in Kyotango, Kyoto Prefecture, that handles the processing, sale, and market development of local Tango specialty products, is releasing its first saison-style craft beer, "Lively Ale," made with Tango-grown Koshihikari rice as a supplementary ingredient, starting Monday, September 7.
The beer is brewed with French hops called "Mistral," giving it a refreshing hop aroma, a spicy flavor, and a light, easy-drinking finish.
The brewery has previously developed and sold a lager-style craft beer, "Meister," also using Tango-grown Koshihikari rice as a supplementary ingredient, as part of its ongoing product development that makes use of locally grown rice.
"Lively Ale" builds on the techniques and know-how gained from developing "Meister" and is the brewery's first saison-style craft beer, brewed with French "Mistral" hops. It offers a refreshing hop aroma, a spicy flavor, and a light finish. Through the flavor created by the combination of Tango-grown rice and French hops, the brewery aims to bring out a new appeal for regional craft beer made with local rice.
Tango Kingdom Brewery plans to continue developing products that make use of regional specialties, and as a regional trading company, to promote the development of local specialty goods and sixth-industry initiatives to help revitalize industry in the Tango area.
