Tawaraya Yoshitomi Starts Selling Year-End Gift Sets Featuring Kyoto Confection Unryu

Tawaraya Yoshitomi (俵屋吉富), a Kyoto confectioner founded in 1755, began selling its year-end gift (oseibo, お歳暮) products on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at its stores and its official online shop.

The lineup features the brand's signature confection Unryu (雲龍), yokan suited to welcoming the New Year, and baked sweets with auspicious designs, all put together as colorful Kyoto confectionery assortments.

Unryu

Large-grain domestic azuki beans are simmered with carefully controlled water and heat into ogura-an (小倉餡, sweet azuki bean paste), which is then rolled by hand, one bar at a time, in moist murasame-an (村雨餡). The result expresses the majestic, powerful figure of a dragon riding the clouds.

It is Tawaraya Yoshitomi's signature confection, made with the refined skill and care of Kyoto confectionery artisans.
