Yokohama has launched THE YOKOHAMA ILLUMINATION, a citywide campaign connecting illumination events across the city's urban waterfront areas from November through February. Even after the new year, over 30 events continue to illuminate the city, with the Yokohama Spring Festival 2026 beginning January 20th, bringing even more excitement to winter in Yokohama.
The campaign also features interactive elements where visitors can explore and photograph illuminations throughout the city.
Enjoy a special winter experience unique to this season in Yokohama, one of Japan's New Top Three Night View Cities, where beautiful night views are enhanced with brilliant lights.

Japan's New Top Three Night View Cities
Established in October 2015 by the Night View Tourism Convention and Visitors Bureau, the only business organization in Japan specializing in night view tourism, this night view brand aims to revitalize night view tourism both domestically and internationally. Based on votes from night view tourism specialists (qualified holders of the Night View Tourism Specialist certification) nationwide, the top three cities are recognized as "Japan's New Top Three Night View Cities." Yokohama was selected for the first time in the Kanto region in the 2024 revision.
Reason for Yokohama's Selection (Comment from the Night View Tourism Convention and Visitors Bureau)
"In recent years, night events such as 'Yoru no Yo' and 'Yokohama Sparkling Twilight*' have expanded throughout the waterfront area, serving as models for other cities. Beyond the charm of the night views themselves, the diverse content utilizing these resources has provided great satisfaction to many night view tourism specialists. The city has been recognized for the dynamic appeal of its ever-changing night views alongside urban transformation, and the increasing attractions as fundamental urban features."
