JR Tokyo Station is getting a Tokyo Banana pop-up store this summer. From Saturday, August 1 to Monday, August 31, 2026, the long-running Tokyo souvenir brand will open a limited-time shop at the event space inside the HANAGATAYA GranSta Tokyo Central Passage Shop.
A Special Summer Project: Tokyo Banana Pops Up at Tokyo Station
Tokyo Banana World is the sweets brand that began with Tokyo Banana, born in 1991 as "a new-era Tokyo souvenir." The brand has kept producing sweets built around a deep devotion to banana flavor, and it remains loved across generations.
This year marks the brand's 35th anniversary, with cumulative sales surpassing 2 billion pieces (※1). In a survey covering September to December 2025, it also ranked No. 1 worldwide (※2) in sales for banana custard sponge cake brands.
To mark the occasion, Tokyo Banana World is opening a special summer pop-up store at JR Tokyo Station. Alongside its classic souvenir favorites, the shop will carry buzzworthy new items and cute sweets, making it a great stop for anyone picking up a gift on the way home. A new sweet starring Banyana, the new character from Tokyo Banana! True to its name, the Tokyo Banyana Zaku Sand Choco Banana Flavor is a cookie sandwich built around a satisfying, crunchy texture. Each pack even comes with Banyana stickers, making it a fun new Tokyo souvenir.

The outside is a smooth banana custard cream made by carefully straining real bananas. Tucked inside is a glistening banana confiture, simmered to keep some of the fruit's texture.
