TOKYO SKYTREE will once again hold its "First Sunrise Special Opening," an event that lets guests welcome the dawn of the new year from the observatory, following this year's event.
The special opening on Friday, January 1, 2027 (public holiday) is limited to 800 guests, who can watch the first sunrise from the TOKYO SKYTREE observatory. Tickets will be sold through an online lottery on the official TOKYO SKYTREE website, official hotel reservation sites, and other channels. The online lottery opens for applications on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 12:00 PM.
For visitors who want to combine the view with a New Year shrine visit (hatsumode), TOKYO SKYTREE will also move up its opening time on January 1 (Fri, public holiday) and begin regular operations at 8:00 AM. Observatory hours are extended around the New Year period as well (see the schedule below).
The special opening is the first event of 2027, the year TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN marks the 15th anniversary of its opening.

Tobu Hotel Levant Tokyo and Asakusa Tobu Hotel offer accommodation plans that include the special opening.

The tickets are offered by lottery as a "first dream" (hatsuyume) lucky bag at Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro main store and Funabashi store.

- Tour: R6606, "New Year Greetings: TOKYO SKYTREE First Sunrise Viewing and Asakusa Hatsumode." The itinerary runs from Tokyo Station Marunouchi South Exit (departing 5:00 AM) to the TOKYO SKYTREE Tembo Galleria and Tembo Deck (first sunrise viewing), then Ginza Capital Hotel (New Year celebration breakfast), Asakusa Kannon and Nakamise (free time for worship and a stroll), and back to Tokyo Station (arriving around 12:30 PM).

Important Notes
- Depending on the weather on the day, poor visibility may prevent viewing the first sunrise. Tickets will not be refunded in that case.
- If advance reservations do not reach the sales limit, day-of tickets may be sold.
