A variety of events are scheduled at TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN® from April through the Golden Week period.
1. Taiwan Festival — A GW Crowd Favorite
Taiwan Festival in TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN® 2026 – Tainan Lantern Festival –
Now in its fourth year, the Taiwan Festival in TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN® 2026 – Tainan Lantern Festival – runs from Saturday, April 4 to Sunday, May 31, 2026. This year's edition features a collaboration with Tainan City, an ancient city in southern Taiwan. Alongside familiar night market staples, the event introduces local Tainan specialties such as the "Tainan Set" (a combination of signature local dishes), Tainan Dan Zi Mian noodles, and Tainan Shrimp Rice — a bowl generously topped with a special sauce made from fragrant sautéed small shrimp. The venue is decorated with lanterns brought directly from Tainan with cooperation from Tainan City. A merchandise corner offers Taiwanese sweets and goods, and traditional Taiwanese massage booths are also on-site.

2. TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN® Koinobori Festival 2026
To mark Children's Day on Tuesday, May 5, the TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN® Koinobori Festival 2026 will be held. With cooperation from Kazo City in Saitama Prefecture (one of Japan's leading koinobori production areas), Tatebayashi City in Gunma Prefecture (known for its large koinobori displays), and Kato City in Hyogo Prefecture (home of the Banshu Koi specialty carp streamers), a total of approximately 1,000 koinobori will be displayed throughout the grounds — including at Soramachi Hiroba, the plaza at the foot of TOKYO SKYTREE®.
Additionally, Sumida Aquarium will contribute giant streamers modeled after three garden eel species living in the aquarium. Keep an eye out for the "garden eel streamers" hidden among the koinobori!

3. Workshops
(1) Koinobori Painting Workshop
A workshop where participants hand-paint paper koinobori under the guidance of former craftspeople from Kazo City in Saitama, coloring them in any style they like. Suitable for children and adults alike; finished koinobori can be taken home.
Dates: Saturday, April 11 – Sunday, April 12, 2026

(2) Asakusa Ame Zaiku Ameshin – Candy Art Workshop
Participants craft a simple koinobori shape from sugar candy and then paint it freely during the session.
Dates: Monday, May 4 (Holiday) and Tuesday, May 5 (Holiday), 2026

(3) Kyo-Todo – Textile & Embroidery "My Koinobori"
Create a one-of-a-kind 85 cm koinobori using textile and embroidery.

Draw postal-themed designs such as postboxes and delivery bikes on a shrink plastic sheet to make a personalized name charm.

A picture letter class led by a certified instructor from the Japan Etegami Association. Easy to join in a short time, with koinobori as the theme.

④ Layered Stamp Multicolor Woodblock Print Experience & Koinobori Card
Layer stamps of different colors to complete a picture reminiscent of multicolor woodblock printing — frameable or sendable as a postcard. Participants also fold a koinobori from origami paper and decorate a card with stamps and masking tape.

4. Limited-Time Events
(1) Chiikawa Pocket POP UP STORE & Chipoke 1st Anniversary Event
The second installment of the "Chiikawa Pocket POP UP STORE" is confirmed. From Friday, April 10, a second lineup of official Chiikawa Pocket merchandise themed around "Fruit Costumes" and "Fantasy Costumes" will be available. A 1st Anniversary pop-up event will also be held simultaneously, featuring balloon giveaways and a stamp rally.
