A new themed collaboration room is coming to Tokyu Stay Kanazawa. The hotel, located in the Korinbo area of central Kanazawa, has partnered with Oyama Shrine to create 12 "Samurai King Double" rooms inspired by the culture of the Kaga Domain. Reservations open on March 31, 2026, with stays available from April 10, 2026.
Collaboration with Oyama Shrine, One of Kanazawa's Iconic Landmarks
Oyama Shrine, a three-minute walk from the hotel, is dedicated to Maeda Toshiie, the founder of the Kaga Domain, and his wife Omatsu-no-kata. The shrine's "Shinmon" gate — designated a National Important Cultural Property — features a distinctive design blending Japanese, Chinese, and Western architectural styles, with colorful stained glass (known as "gyaman") at its uppermost level. Once used as a lighthouse at night, the shrine draws visitors seeking blessings for marital harmony, victory in competitions, and career advancement, befitting Toshiie's legendary reputation as a masterful spear fighter.
This collaboration aims to bring the atmosphere of Oyama Shrine into the guest rooms, giving visitors a way to engage with Kanazawa's cultural heritage during their stay and encouraging deeper exploration of the surrounding area.
"Samurai King Double": A Room Inspired by the Samurai Spirit

The rooms take inspiration from Maeda Toshiie — known as the "undefeated spear master" — and the grandeur of the Kaga Domain's one-million-koku prosperity.
Wall tapestries feature a pine motif symbolizing Omatsu, Toshiie's wife. The foot throw design draws from a legend about the painter Ganku, who served the Maeda clan in the late Edo period and is said to have painted a "Pine and Tiger" composition at Kanazawa Castle's ni-no-maru. Gold fabric throughout the room evokes the splendor of the Kaga Domain era.
Bed cushions are embroidered with the Maeda family crest on a lustrous fabric. This fabric was upcycled from curtains that would otherwise have been discarded, as part of Tokyu Stay's ongoing upcycling initiative.
