HOTEL AO KANAZAWA in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, will hold a shimenawa workshop on December 10 and 13, 2026, giving participants a chance to prepare for the New Year by making their own shime decoration. The workshop is a collaboration with "Nuage," a flower shop along the Sai River, and follows a well-received first edition held last year.
The decorations are handmade and incorporate Kaga mizuhiki. Because the workshop is held with a flower artist as instructor, it is designed to be easy to join, whether participants come alone or as a parent and child.
After the workshop, participants can enjoy a lunch of their choice at "Kanazawa Sujū (金沢 酢重)."
