Tsumagoi Resort Sainosato (つま恋リゾート彩の郷) in Kakegawa, Shizuoka Prefecture, will hold the Tsumagoi Illumination "Invitation to the Magic Forest" (魔法の森への招待状) starting October 30, 2026. The event is themed around a mysterious forest where witches live.
This year, the Tsumagoi Illumination has been renewed into a Dark Night world. Within the colorful lights, a faintly eerie world where magic lives unfolds, as if visitors had wandered into a strange realm unique to Tsumagoi.
Step into the forest and leave the bustle of everyday life behind. Overgrown vines and gently swaying lantern flames lead the way to a world of fantasy and magic that no one has yet seen. Welcome to a special story for one night only.

Admission
All prices include tax.
- Regular period (October 30 – January 3): Adults ¥1,500, elementary school students ¥700
- Off-season (January 4 – March 28): Adults ¥1,200, elementary school students ¥600
- Children younger than elementary school age enter free. Junior high school students and older pay the adult price.
- Ticket sales begin 30 minutes before the lighting time, and the last ticket sales are at 8:30 PM.
Parking and Entrance
- Parking: Standard car ¥300 per vehicle, motorbike ¥100 per vehicle (tax included)
- Enter through the North Main Gate (北正面ゲート). Entry from the South Gate is not available.
Set Plans With Admission
Set plans combine illumination admission with a day-use bath ticket for Tsumagoi Onsen or a dinner buffet. All prices include tax.
- Forest Bath Set Ticket (森林の湯セット券): Adults ¥2,000 (¥600 saving in the regular period), elementary school students ¥1,000 (¥250 saving in the regular period)
- Dinner Buffet Set Ticket (ディナービュッフェセット券): Adults ¥7,000 (¥1,100 saving in the regular period), elementary school students ¥5,000 (¥320 saving in the regular period)
- Excluded dates for both set tickets: October 30 – November 1 and December 26 – January 3
A Special Experience Woven From Light
The venue recreates the Magic Forest with a mysterious glowing spring and a fantastical crystal area, along with an area where many witches welcome visitors. Many areas are new this year. Each area is lit in its own range of colors.
Here are some of the areas.
Hall of Worship (礼拝の間) – Witches' Lodge (魔女たちのロッジ)
A secret place where witches gather every night to hold rituals, and a forbidden place of worship that stands quietly in the forest. Sacred white light and eerie red light mark the boundary between humans and witches. In this place that has stood since ancient times, a tapestry sways quietly once again today.
Wandering Carriage (遊動の馬車) – 残背の回遊
Deep in the forest, just before the moon sets, stands the wandering carriage that witches use to travel from place to place. Is it waiting for someone, or waiting for the time to depart? The lights swaying in the wind carry a quiet sense of a journey.
Spring of Tamayura (タマユラの泉) – Light Breathes, Eternal Swaying (光が息づく、永遠のゆらぎ)
Deep in the Magic Forest, the spring "Tamayura no Izumi" (タマユラの泉) appears in the gap between times. Balls of light floating on the water's surface sway as if taking a gentle, deep breath, and keep shining like twinkling stars. The spring quietly reflects the hearts of visitors and turns a moment of sparkle into an eternal record.
Kimi no Warui Chi (キミノワルイ地) – A Pop Nightmare World Where Twisted Things Dance (ねじれが踊る、ポップなナイトメアワールド)
A pop and playful nightmare world based on light purple and blue, with gentle orange as an accent. Twisted corridors run through the light, and cute animals and glowing trees and objects are scattered throughout the area.

After the Illumination
Kakegawa Tsumagoi Onsen "Shinrin no Yu" (掛川つま恋温泉「森林の湯」)
Surrounded by nature, the facility has outdoor and indoor baths, each with a different character. Relaxation services such as esthetic treatments are also available.

- Saturdays and holidays: 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM (last entry: 10:30 PM)

Tsumagoi Dinner Buffet (つま恋ディナービュッフェ)
A buffet with premium ingredients including crab, eel, and cut beef steak. Dishes made with seasonal ingredients are also served. The venue is the Restaurant Buffet Terrace.
