Toei Kyoto Studio Park (Uzumasa Eigamura, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto) is hosting its first summer event since its renovation reopening, beginning Saturday, July 18, 2026. The UZUMASA BON DANCE FESTIVAL unfolds in two thematic chapters, giving visitors a different experience on each visit throughout the season.
The festival sets the park's Edo-period townscape as the stage for bon odori, blended with CITY POP music, and draws together Toei anime characters beloved across generations, characters from the popular autumn event "怪々YOKAI祭," a real maiko performance from one of Kyoto's flower districts, festive food stalls, and exclusive event food and drinks — a summer night experience unique to Toei Kyoto Studio Park.
Part 1: KYOTO BON DANCE NIGHT — A Kyoto Night Out
Dates: July 18 (Sat)–20 (Mon), July 25 (Sat)–August 14 (Fri) ※ Closed on Tuesdays (July 28 and August 4)
Maiko Performance by Miyagawa-cho's "Komaya" (July 18, 19, August 14)
A maiko from "Komaya," a teahouse in the Miyagawa-cho district — one of Kyoto's five prestigious hanamachi (flower districts) — will give a special guest performance at the park. Miyagawa-cho is one of Kyoto's most historic hanamachi, with roots stretching back to the Edo period.
Dancing with 心配無用ノ介 Cast (July 25)
The main cast of the serial jidaigeki drama "心配無用ノ介 天下御免" — a spin-off of the film "侍タイムスリッパー" that also filmed publicly at Toei Kyoto Studio Park — will make a special appearance to join visitors in bon odori. The series airs on BS-TBS starting July 16 (Thursday), every Thursday from 11:00 PM to 11:30 PM (6 episodes), with reruns airing Saturdays from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
BON DANCE FESTIVAL with 北斗 (August 8)
北斗 is a performer with stage and screen credits who also specializes in Japanese sword fighting, traditional Japanese dance, and Osaka dialect coaching. In the film "国宝," 北斗 served as both actor and dialect coach, lending authenticity to the characters and the period setting.

Ojamajo Doremi: Hoshimi Yagura Bon Odori Carnival!! (August 1)
A one-day-only special event celebrating the birthday of protagonist Harukaze Doremi (born July 30), featuring bon odori alongside characters from Ojamajo Doremi.
Super Sentai × Kamen Rider Super Hero Bon Odori 2026 (August 2, 10, 12)
A Kids' Day special featuring choreography set to Super Sentai and Kamen Rider music — a family-friendly event for all ages.
Pretty Cure: Hoshimi Yagura Pretty Cure Bon Odori! (August 11, 13)
Another Kids' Day event featuring choreography set to Pretty Cure music — a family-friendly bon odori for everyone.
Part 2: YOKAI BON DANCE NIGHT — A Yokai Night Out
Dates: August 15 (Sat)–30 (Sun) ※ Closed on Tuesdays (August 18 and 25)
This second chapter is produced under the supervision of 百妖箱 (Hyakuyoubako), a yokai arts organization, fusing yokai culture with bon odori. The combination of bon odori, yokai, and an Edo-period townscape delivers a summer festival filled with distinctly Japanese charm.
Yokai including 夜行童子 and other colorful characters from the popular autumn event "怪々YOKAI祭" will appear, turning the park's Edo streets into a wonderfully strange summer night.
CITY POP × Bon Odori: Music by α-STATION FM Kyoto
α-STATION FM Kyoto is a creative partner for the entire event period. The popular club night "CLUB80's" from Kyoto's long-running venue CLUB METRO will handle DJ sets and remixes. Drawing on a wide range of music from Japanese pop to Western hits, the event aims to entertain visitors of all generations and backgrounds.
