Barneys Japan Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Penny Luo) will hold a limited-time event featuring Fukuoka-based military shop WAIPER from February 21 (Saturday) to February 23 (Monday) at Barneys New York Roppongi.
WAIPER has captivated fashion enthusiasts with its extensive selection of rare military surplus and deadstock items, as well as its original brand WAIPER.INC, which faithfully recreates military items that have become difficult to obtain. During the event, numerous military fashion items including rare surplus pieces will be available. Popular black-dyed authentic military items will also be on offer.
As pre-release items exclusive to this event, reworked pieces from "ichiryu made" will be available. These creations deconstruct and rebuild different military items, breathing new life into them. The wide easy pants use fabric from five US barracks bags, creating warmth within their rugged aesthetic. Swiss army denim jackets and pants are each reconstructed from two deconstructed items, reinterpreted with a unique finish that blends Euro vintage with subtle "wa" (Japanese) nuances.
