Wake Ugaidani Onsen (和気鵜飼谷温泉), a town-run hot spring facility in Wake, Okayama Prefecture, is celebrating its 31st anniversary with a special promotion. A "Miakashi (燈明-みあかし-)" light-up by light artist Mr. Hattori begins on November 1, and it is paired with the facility's simple alkaline hot spring, which has a pH of 9.5.
As part of the 31st-anniversary special program, a service that makes the accommodation fee for the third guest in a room free (1室3人目宿泊料無料サービス) is also available.
31 Years of Operation and Miakashi (燈明-みあかし-) Hospitality for the Next 31 Years
Wake Ugaidani Onsen has long been a place for local residents to improve their health and relax, and it has now reached its 31st anniversary. In recent years, its shop and restaurant facilities have been fully renovated, and the facility continues to be updated so that visitors can spend time more comfortably both inside and out.
To thank visitors for their support so far, and to let those coming from far away feel the "new appeal of Wake Ugaidani Onsen" (新しい和気鵜飼谷温泉の魅力), the facility is starting hospitality centered on "Miakashi (燈明-みあかし-)".

Miakashi (燈明-みあかし-) Light-Up and Hot Spring
In Wake Town in winter, illumination events light up the town, including a tunnel of lights at the roundabout in front of the station and the "Enta-Wake (エンターワケ)" light-up. Wake Ugaidani Onsen also holds the "Miakashi (燈明-みあかし-)" light-up, which brightens the nights in Wake.
After enjoying the light display in the crisp winter air, visitors can soak in the pH 9.5 simple alkaline hot spring. It warms the body to the core, and the sauna and open-air baths offer a refreshing break.
A lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 1, at 6:00 PM. The first 100 visitors on the day will receive the Wake Ugaidani Onsen original "Fujikomachi (藤小町)" and a hot spring coupon worth ¥300. Reception opens at 5:30 PM in the Japanese garden.

Warm Up After the Hot Spring With the Choice of 3 Nabe Plan

Guests can choose their main hot pot from three types: chanko nabe, kimchi nabe, and motsu nabe (offal hot pot). The nabe is made with plenty of local seasonal ingredients, and the savory broth warms a chilled body.
