The Saitama Agricultural Direct Trade Council "Nosaido" (農・彩・土), which includes the Palsystem Saitama Consumer Cooperative, will hold the "Wodokai Negi Festival" on February 7 (Sat) from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wodokai farm in Fukaya City. The event features harvesting fresh negi and grilling whole stalks over charcoal fire for tasting, creating opportunities for consumers to interact with producers.
Chance to Win Local Products
Approximately 85 people will participate in the "Wodokai Negi Festival," including Wodokai producers, consumer families, and Palsystem Saitama staff. Participants will enter the field directly, pulling up negi and carrots that producers have carefully grown from soil preparation. The harvested negi will be grilled whole over charcoal fire, allowing everyone to enjoy the enhanced sweetness of Fukaya negi that emerges through cooking.
Through challenges like weighing negi to match specified amounts and negi-themed quizzes, participants can interact with producers.
Top-ranking challenge participants will receive exclusive local products sold only at Palsystem Saitama. Prizes include the "Wakuwaku BOX" filled with seasonal Wodokai vegetables and "Negimachi Fukaya Negi Oil," made by slow-cooking Fukaya negi with garlic and ginger for about five hours and extracting the flavors into first-pressed rapeseed oil.
Lunch will warm everyone up with miso soup abundantly using Wodokai vegetables, providing opportunities to enjoy conversations with producers.

Expanding Local Production for Local Consumption Throughout the Prefecture
In 2011, Palsystem Saitama established the Saitama Agricultural Direct Trade Council "Nosaido" together with Wodokai, Minami Saitama Direct Trade Network (Saitama City, Representative: Hideki Suzuki), and Palsystem Federation. Through producer-consumer exchanges and the development and supply of Palsystem Saitama exclusive products, they advance local production for local consumption.
They provide opportunities throughout the year for consumers to experience food production sites and producers, including "Field Classroom" and "Harvest Festival" at Wodokai, and "Iwatsuki Rice Paddy Exchange" at Minami Saitama Direct Trade Network.
