Yamanaka Onsen in Kaga Onsen-kyo (Ishikawa) has two events lined up for November: the Karankoron YUGE no ICHI 2026 street market on November 3, and the Yamanaka-bushi Utaiyanko singing event on November 8.
Karankoron YUGE no ICHI 2026: A Cultural Crossroads Where People's Passion and Art Meet
On November 3 (Culture Day), one of the largest street-walking markets in Kaga City will be held in Yamanaka Onsen. This year, around 80 stalls and programs from inside and outside Ishikawa Prefecture will gather, with a wide range of attractions along the hot spring town's streets, including carefully selected goods, handcrafted items, food, and hands-on craft experiences.
At Kikunoyu Plaza (菊の湯広場), the Yamanaka Renjishi-kai (山中連獅子会) will give a special performance, and a stamp rally will take place along Yuge Kaido (ゆげ街道). The historic Kaga Iryokuen (加賀依緑園) and Basho no Yakata (芭蕉の館) will also be open to visitors free of charge.

Set against the backdrop of Kikunoyu (菊の湯), where Yamanaka-bushi was born, this event invites people to sing and listen to Yamanaka-bushi to their heart's content, whether they live in town or elsewhere, young or old, men and women alike.
