Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu Presents Limited Melon Parfaits at Two Minato Mirai Restaurants

Starting May 2026, two restaurants on the 3rd floor of Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu (Minato Mirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama) — French cuisine "Queen Alice" and Chinese cuisine "Szechuan Restaurant Chen" — are each presenting original melon parfaits for a limited period. Both make generous use of domestic Japanese melon as the centerpiece, with each restaurant's pastry team bringing its own distinct approach to the dessert.

"Parfait of Wonderland — Melon, Garden Veil"

Following popular editions that featured strawberries and Shine Muscat grapes, the "Parfait of Wonderland" series at Queen Alice now spotlights melon. The parfait makes generous use of both domestic red-flesh and green-flesh melon, complemented by jelly, lemon mousse, melon ice cream, sablé, and crumble — a combination that balances sweetness and acidity while varying texture throughout. Topping the dessert is a melon-shaped candy sculpture, a delicate confection that is equally photogenic.

The plate is designed to evoke a flower garden, and through June 14, the dish is offered as a collaboration menu with "Garden Necklace Yokohama" — an event celebrating the flowers, greenery, and natural scenery of Yokohama, running March 19 to June 14, 2026.

"Melon Parfait with Hokkaido Cheese — Two Flavors"

At Szechuan Restaurant Chen, the melon parfait is one of the highlights of the "Hokkaido Fair" launching May 1. Fresh red-flesh and green-flesh melons are generously layered on top, and a melon purée sauce can be poured over as desired for an even more intense melon flavor. Cassata (an ice cream) made with Hokkaido cheese and nuts, along with a cheese crumble, provides a rich counterpoint to the melon's natural sweetness. True to the restaurant's Chinese character, the parfait also features Shaoxing wine caramel ice cream and, nestled at the bottom of the glass, an annin tofu (almond tofu) with a subtle melon aroma — making for a refreshing finish after a full Sichuan meal.
